Jamie D’Amaral, LPC

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who received my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Endicott College and my Master of Arts in Counseling from Westfield State University. I have worked in a variety of settings such as hospitals, community mental health centers, outpatient clinics, and within higher education. I have worked with clients with an array of struggles including anxiety, depression, mood, and personality disorders, as well as clients with suicidal ideation.

In my work, I integrate different therapeutic approaches depending on the client’s needs. I use approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy and psychodynamic psychotherapy. I conceptualize client difficulties from a dynamic perspective, understanding that an individual’s unresolved conflict can manifest itself in their current (and past) struggles. I work with individuals to identify themes within their lives that have caused issues, halting progress. I work to help clients become conscious of such themes and help them identify ways to implement change. As a former college athlete myself, I understand the common struggles that athletes face in their academic and social life and how these can intersect with their respective sports.
